I wanted to let you know that my father Willy (Wilfred Dale Parsons) flew west January 1, 2018.  He was strong and healthy, no disease, his body just wore out!  He was surrounded by myself, his wife Hazel, his son Wayne (777 pilot for United) and all his family.  He has many amazing memories of working with Flying Tigers, he truly lived 5 lives with all the adventures he had.  He was a fabulous husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He passed away at 90 years of age, and 61 years of a healthy marriage.

My very first trip with Tigers was as a S/O on the DC-8 out of Los Angeles in January of 1979. The Captain was Don Hassig and the F/O was Willy. I was a 24 year old "snot nose" (like Petros used to say) but both Don and Willie made my first trip one of the most enjoyable of my 39 year career. Their guidance and support made it a life long memory. Thanks guys.

Very Sorry to hear of Willie’s passing. We were of similar physical stature and were mistaken for each other on several occasions, which we always got a laugh about when we compared notes on occasion. I will miss him.
