Richard “Rick” K. Campbell

In Memoriam

July 10, 1946 - September 10, 2022

We're sorry to pass on the late news that fellow Tiger pilot Richard "Rick" Campbell, 76, experienced a heart attack a couple of weeks ago that he was unable to recover from.  He passed away in Denver on September 10th.

Rick graduated from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa and went on to fly F4's in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  Most of us first met him as a ground school instructor in 1978. He was hired a pilot in November 1978 and went on to retired as a FedEx Airbus Captain.

Rick leaves behind his wife, Bev, and their two children, Keri and Kevin. A private service is planned by the family.   Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

The following comes from Al Hader who worked with Rick in the "schoolhouse" and became a line pilot on the same day.

I met Rick in 1978 as instructors. It was always a pleasure to work with Rick and spend time together. He had a special gift of humor and was able to take difficult subject matter and encapsulate it with humor and make it an easy pill to swallow and understand. Rick was a very fine gentleman and pilot. We stayed friends throughout our career and via email to just a few weeks ago. I will miss him very much!

RIP Rick, above all you were a fine person to all around you!
Deepest Condolences to Bev and all your family.
Al Hader
