In Memoriam

We received the news from the Flying Tigers Club that Paul Stokes, a member of both groups, passed away last week.  He joined Tigers in 1952 as a cargo handler in Denver, worked his way up the management ladder heavily influential in the growth that FTL experienced in Asia through the 70's.  On T-Day he held the office of Senior Vice President - Pacific and retired from FedEx as Senior Vice-President - North Pacific.

The following is from his friend and co-executive Ian Jackson:

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I advise you Rose Stokes called me this morning Friday, April 14th, to tell me that her beloved husband Paul had passed away on Wednesday. April 12th.  There is so much more to be said about this remarkable Flying Tiger and FedEx executive and friend. Please keep the Stokes family in your thoughts and prayers.

There are no plans for a public funeral at this time and I will certainly have more to write about Paul as will so many others after the initial shock wears off and we all have time to reflect how this giant of a man impacted so many of us in so many positive ways.
