Paul J. Fox

In Memoriam

1962 - April 7, 2020

The following is from an FCIF sent to all FedEx pilots.

It is with a very sad and somber tone that we inform you have lost our first pilot due to the COVID-19 virus.  MD11 Captain Paul J. Fox died on Tuesday, 7 April, in a Florida hospital at the age of 58 after succumbing to complications associated with the virus.

Hired [by the Flying Tiger Line] as a Second Officer on the B727 in July of 1988, Paul went on to fly all three seats of the B727, before upgrading to MD11 Captain.  Paul was truly passionate about flying, and especially proud of being a FedEx pilot.

Paul grew up in Washington, DC, the youngest of six siblings.  He followed in the footsteps of his father, Harvey, by becoming a pilot while attending flight school at Florida Tech in Melbourne, Florida.  His passion for flying was evident to anyone who met him.  It was the joy of his life to work for FedEx and fly with all of you.  In his spare time, you could find him on his boat, fishing on Florida's Gulf Coast. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 33 years, Linda, and three daughters, Demi, Brandi, and Somer.

We ask that you join us in keeping Paul's family close in your thoughts during this extremely difficult time.
