The following tribute and images are from Tom Borda.
I flew with Ned quite often in the early 80’s and stayed in touch with him over the years, usually around Christmas time and on occasional visits to Phoenix. He was such an enjoyable person to fly with and will be missed by all who knew him. Below are two pictures dated 2003.
From Jack Haggerty
Ned was a great guy to fly with. He and I were both very senior in our seats in the DC-8, Ned as Captain and me as his F/O. We did several of those long turns to Hawaii from the west coast with a lot of hard seat time but we only had to work 7 or 8 days a month. Those were the days. Being a fellow runner I was amazed to hear about his 100 mile runs through the Sierra’s. I had a nice reunion with him after his retirement while on a layover in Arizona. Great guy and great memories.
