Larry was hired as a pilot at FTL on April 17, 1978. Below is a copy of his obituary published in the Commercial Appeal
Larry Bollrud, 69, of Germantown, TN, went to be with the Lord on February 8th, 2018 after a long illness. He was born on November 23rd, 1948 in Minnesota and pursued a lifetime of aviation. He served as an Air Force pilot during the Vietnam War. Larry continued flying for 35 years with Flying Tigers and Federal Express until he retired as a FedEx captain. He found joy in the outdoors, especially on the water while sailing, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
Larry is survived by his wife, Martha Ditto Bollrud; His sons Greg Bollrud (Kacey), Jay Ditto (Christie), and Jeff Ditto (Mona); and five grandchildren who loved him and whom he loved dearly. He was a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church.
Visitation is from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery East in Memphis. The funeral is also at Forest Hill East, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018. Burial will occur at Memphis Memory Gardens.
