Camp James R. Camp "Jim", age 67, of Dublin, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was born in Washington, PA, December 31, 1946. Jim was an entrepreneur, best selling author, high school football coach, military pilot, airline captain, and Vietnam Veteran. Graduate, Columbus North High School, Class of 1964. Member of North High School City Championship Baseball Team. Pitched a no-hitter in the City Championship, All-City pitcher and starting offensive guard of the 1962-64 North High School Football Team. Assistant high school football coach, Bexley High School; League champs, 1970. Received his B.S. Biology and Education degree from The Ohio State University, 1971. Football recruiter and coaching understudy for Woody Hayes and Earl Bruce. Veteran, U.S. Air Force, Vietnam, July 1967-68; Ohio Air Guard, 1971-72. Completed pilot training in 1972 and was fighter qualified. "Amazing, me a pilot going faster than the speed of sound and I was good at it." Airline pilot and Captain, 1973-1999, Flying Tiger's Airline, call sign: "Heavy Tiger". Flew all over the world 747's, DC-8's, 727's and MD-11's. "Too many stories and most just too crazy to be true." Entrepreneur and founder, Camp Negotiation Institute, and Negotiator-Pro, Inc. "My life's true calling, very hard, but worth every minute of it." Best Selling Author, "Start With No". He is preceded in death by his father Lawrence R. Camp Sr. and mother Doris Barlow Camp. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Camp; his children, USAF Lt. Col. (Col. Select) James R. Camp (Cynthia), W. Scott Camp (Meredith), Todd L. Camp (Erin), Brian J.W. Camp, Kristina A. Camp; his grandchildren, USMC Officer Candidate James T. Camp, Jordan V. Camp, Brittany K. Lawhon, Remy C. Camp, Lily B. Camp, Jack M. Camp, Cade W. Camp, Farrah M. Camp and Naomi D. Camp; his brothers, Lawrence R. Camp, Jr. (JoAnn) and Ronald R. Camp (Keith Burnfield). Friends may call at the SOUTHWICK-GOOD & FORTKAMP FUNERAL CHAPEL, 3100 N. High St., Thursday 4- 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday 11 a.m. (friends may call 1 hour prior to service) at St. Brendan The Navigator Parish, 4475 Dublin Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026. Father Bob Penhallurick, Celebrant. "Do what you love, love what you do, and work to make it all happen. I was a small kid with a big heart, and I did all I could to live it. I think I made it."
