In the 50's Tigers was the first to introduce coast-to-coast charters for $99 and became the largest North Atlantic Independent Passenger Carrier in 1956.
Flying Tiger first non-stop transcontinental airfreight flights.
The Lockheed H Constellation airlifted 43,000 pounds of freight at 300 miles per hour over a 2500 mile range. In 1955 Tigers placed a $20 million dollar order for ten Super-H Constellations, the cargo version of the 1049-G. In 1957, the Flying Tiger Line took delivery of the ten Super-Connies to supplement its fleet of three DC-6as, eight C-54s and fifteen C-46s.

- In 1957, Tigers began transporting Korean War Orphans to adoptive parents in the United States
- A new container for shipping perishables was introduced on March 24th 1959. Strawberries were the freight aboard this Los Angeles to Boston Flight.
- Al Comier who became a legend as the company’s “Ambassador of Goodwill” was already busy with the donation of toys to the needy am underprivileged.
- Bob Prescott Greg “Pappy” Boyington,and Dick Rossi. Boyington worked for a short time for Tigers as a pilot on the company’s Cessna 310.
