Born November 1, 1938, Captain Nicholas
John Bouja passed away at Stanford Medical Center on April
20, 2007, at the age of 68.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole
Bouja of Sunnyvale, CA; his son Alex Bouja of San Jose, CA;
his loving partner Kathie Behnke of Mountain View, CA and
his beloved cat, Sam. Nick led a full and successful life
and was most proud of his son and daughter and their
accomplishments, and thankful for the love and care of his
wonderful partner Kathie.
Nicks distinguished career included 33
years as a 747 Captain for Flying Tiger Airline, which was
the worlds leading airfreight carrier; he also flew much
needed supplies to U.S. soldiers during Desert Storm and
served in the U.S. Army prior to his flying career.
Nick traveled the world, Sydney,
Australia and Lake Tahoe were his favorite spots. After he
retired, Nick enjoyed his "2nd Job" - playing video poker.
He had a special place in his heart for animals, rescuing
many from being homeless. Nick had a "Captain's" wit about
him and his favorite place was the cockpit, flying a 747
among the clouds.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held
at the Lima Family Mortuary in Sunnyvale, CA on Monday,
April 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m., followed by internment at Holy
Cross Cemetery in Colma, CA at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that a memorial donation be made in Nicks name to American
Diabetes Association or Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
